Key Responsibilities

As a Plumber, your duties may include:

Plumbing Installation & Repair

  • Install domestic, commercial, and industrial plumbing fixtures and complete pipe systems to specification
  • Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, pipe networks, and related mechanical components
  • Locate and accurately mark positions for pipe connections, joints, and fixtures before installation
  • Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe fittings and plumbing access points
  • Join pipes using clamps, couplings, screws, cement, soldering, and welding equipment as required
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required dimensions and project specifications
  • Test completed pipe systems for leaks using air and water pressure gauges to ensure integrity

Worksite & Operations Support

  • Schedule personnel, equipment, and tools when required to maintain efficient project timelines
  • Follow all applicable construction and plumbing safety standards on every worksite
  • Maintain clean, organised, and hazard-free work areas throughout each project
  • Read and interpret plumbing layouts, technical drawings, and project specifications accurately
  • Assist with additional plumbing and mechanical tasks as directed by the project supervisor

Skills & Qualifications

To qualify, you should have:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent academic background
  • Between 1 year and less than 2 years of hands-on plumbing experience in a residential or comparable setting
  • Solid working knowledge of plumbing systems, pipe installation methods, and fixture types
  • Demonstrated ability to use plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively on-site
  • Good physical fitness and stamina to meet the demands of a labour-intensive trade environment

Work Environment

This role involves:

  • Hands-on engagement with plumbing systems, pipe networks, and mechanical equipment
  • On-site work only — there is no remote or hybrid work option available for this position

  • Residential pipe installation and fixture fitting in new and existing builds
  • Maintenance and repair of domestic plumbing systems and water supply networks
