Key Responsibilities

As a Courier Service Delivery Person at Dooley’s Trucking, your duties may include:

Package Delivery & Pick-Up Operations

  • Delivering and picking up messages, parcels, packages, and other items by hand across assigned local delivery routes in and around Port au Choix, NL
  • Operating and driving employer-supplied automobiles, vans, and light trucks to complete daily pick-up and delivery runs safely and on schedule
  • Sorting packages and organizing delivery loads efficiently prior to departing on each route to maximize delivery accuracy and time management

Route Navigation & Trip Planning

Record Keeping & Dispatch Communication

  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of all items received and delivered throughout each shift, ensuring full accountability for every parcel handled
  • Recording essential trip information including vehicle mileage, fuel costs, delivery times, and any issues or incidents encountered during the route
  • Receiving and relaying information to and from central dispatch in a clear, timely, and professional manner throughout the working day
  • Maintaining all delivery documentation in a neat, organized, and accurate format as required by company procedures and regulatory standards

Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance Oversight

  • Performing thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to confirm the roadworthiness and safe operating condition of all assigned company vehicles
