Key Responsibilities

As a Delivery Driver / Window Assembler, your duties may include:

Delivery Operations

  • Professionally delivering door and window products to residential and commercial clients across Auckland in a safe, efficient, and timely manner
  • Operating heavy vehicles (Class 2), utes, vans, and trailers depending on the products and delivery requirements for each job
  • Planning daily delivery routes to maximise efficiency and ensure on-time arrival at all client sites

On-Site Handling & Installation Support

  • Moving windows and door systems around building sites with care and precision
  • Assisting window installation teams on-site when required to support project completion
  • Using forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and position products safely

Factory Assembly

  • Performing assembly work at the Penrose factory as required alongside the production team
  • Handling, preparing, and staging products for delivery in an organised and efficient manner
  • Conducting pre-delivery checks to ensure all products meet quality standards before dispatch

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Adhering strictly to Door + Window Systems’ Health and Safety policies and SiteWise Gold accreditation standards at all times
  • Carrying out daily heavy lifting safely using correct manual handling techniques
  • Maintaining a clean driving record and complying with all New Zealand road rules and transport regulations

Skills & Qualifications

To qualify, you should have:

  • Previous experience driving trucks or working in a delivery driver role, preferably within the construction, manufacturing, or building materials industry
  • Physical strength and a reasonable level of fitness — daily heavy lifting is a core part of this role
  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence with both Class 1 and Class 2 endorsements (mandatory requirement)
  • A clean driving record with no driving convictions or outstanding licence suspensions
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach when interacting with clients on residential and commercial sites
  • A proven ability to work effectively as part of a team with a positive, can-do attitude

Work Environment

This role involves:

  • Daily heavy lifting and physical work both in the factory environment and on active building sites across Auckland
  • Driving a variety of heavy vehicles, utes, vans, and trailers on Auckland roads to complete residential and commercial deliveries
  • Working on construction and building sites with varying terrain, weather conditions, and site-specific health and safety requirements
  • Splitting time between the Penrose factory for assembly work and field-based delivery runs throughout the working week
  • Operating in a drug-free workplace with strict adherence to health, safety, and conduct standards at all times

Experience and Specialisation

Driving & Vehicle Operation

  • Heavy vehicle driving experience (Class 2 licence required; F endorsement desirable)
  • Experience operating utes, vans, and trailers for commercial or trade deliveries
  • Forklift operation experience (OSH-approved forklift certificate desirable — can be arranged for the right candidate)

Industry & Site Experience

  • Prior experience in construction, building materials, manufacturing, or trade deliveries preferred
  • Familiarity with building site protocols and health and safety requirements
  • Site Safe Passport desirable — can be arranged for the right applicant

Tools & Equipment Used

  • Heavy vehicles (Class 2), utes, vans, and flatbed trailers
  • Forklifts and material handling equipment for loading and unloading
  • Digital delivery documentation and communication tools

Work Conditions

  • Full-time position based at the Penrose, Auckland factory with daily delivery runs across the greater Auckland region
  • Physically demanding role requiring strength, fitness, and the ability to perform heavy lifting on a daily basis
