Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Accountant, your duties may include:
Accounts Payable Support
- Assisting the Accounts Officer with the processing, coding, and reconciliation of supplier invoices across the GFM property portfolio
- Following up on outstanding purchase orders, payment queries, and supplier account discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
- Supporting month-end accounts payable close processes and ensuring all payables are accurately recorded and up to date
Banking & Transactions
- Assisting with daily banking tasks including bank reconciliations, transaction coding, and cash flow monitoring
- Processing and reconciling electronic payments and receipts across multiple accounts and entities
- Identifying and resolving banking discrepancies in coordination with the Finance Manager and wider team
Finance Administration
- Managing finance-related administrative tasks including document filing, data entry, and maintenance of accurate financial records
- Preparing and distributing internal finance reports and supporting documentation as required
- Assisting with the coordination of audit preparation, compliance documentation, and financial reporting support
General Accounting Assistance
- Providing broad accounting support to the Finance Manager and wider Finance team across month-end and year-end reporting periods
- Assisting with journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations as directed
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance team to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Skills & Qualifications
To qualify, you should have:

Experience and Specialisation
Accounting & Finance
- Accounts payable processing, supplier reconciliations, and payment management

Systems & Technology
- Accounting software experience such as Xero, MYOB, SAP, or similar platforms
