Key Responsibilities

As a Food Production Worker, your duties may include:

Assembly Line Operations

  • Working efficiently along a fast-moving conveyor belt production line, assembling sandwiches and food products as they progress through the line
  • Maintaining pace with the production line while upholding strict hygiene, portioning, and presentation standards at all times
  • Operating machinery and equipment used in the food production process safely and in accordance with site protocols

Food Preparation & Packaging

  • Preparing, assembling, and packaging food products according to strict food safety, hygiene, and quality specifications
  • Following standardised recipes, assembly instructions, and portioning guidelines to ensure consistent product quality across every shift
  • Handling all food products and packaging materials carefully and hygienically throughout the production process

Quality Control & Food Safety

  • Performing routine quality checks on products moving through the production line to identify and report any non-conforming items
  • Ensuring full compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and facility hygiene requirements during all production activities
  • Using required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to maintain food safety and personal protection standards in the chiller environment

Workstation Maintenance

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and hazard-free workstation throughout every shift
  • Cleaning and sanitising equipment, surfaces, and work areas in accordance with the facility’s food safety and hygiene procedures
  • Reporting any equipment faults, safety concerns, or production issues to the supervising team promptly

To qualify, you should have:

  • Previous experience in food production, assembly line work, or a similar manufacturing or cold storage environment — highly regarded but not mandatory for the right candidate
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a chiller environment (0°C to 5°C) for extended periods wearing full PPE
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform repetitive manual tasks while standing for the duration of each shift

Experience and Specialisation

Food Production & Manufacturing

  • Food production line assembly and packaging experience, particularly in chilled or cold storage environments

Equipment & Handling

  • Operation of food production machinery and conveyor belt equipment
